That’s me on the right hand side!

I offer one on one 1/2 or 1-day tuition workshops on how to get the best from your DSLR and associated kit in the outdoors. I cover everything you’ll need to know about how to capture great images and get the very best from your camera. There are no specific dates for these days as they are done on request to a mutually suitable time.

I’m very passionate about what I do, and I really do enjoy and get enjoyment from helping people get to where they want to be. Say goodbye to lacklustre photographs; learn how to tame the sky and learn how to hone your passion.

I like to keep the numbers to an absolute minimum to allow for maximum time to be spent equally with each participant and for maximum, individual learning.

“I spent 3 days with Pete in the Lake District in October 2022, there was wind, rain, and sun during our visit. Pete was well prepared and had locations ready for all those conditions we went to a cave to photograph the interior and the passage that led to the cave during the rain. He had lots of useful hints and tips, whether we were shooting from a tripod or handheld, big views, or targeted shots, or moving waterfalls.  One of the 3 days the weather was just too bad so he spent time to show me how to use Photoshop & Raya Pro which he felt would be of great use to me.

He was unfortunate to have a puncture in the middle of nowhere and we had to carefully get the car down the pass to a pub at the bottom of the valley were Pete could make some calls to sort out the issue, time was not wasted and we spent several hours going over Photoshop once more, as we had to wait for the breakdown service.

If you need help with that little something or issues of Focus and software in your photography, then Pete is your go to professional photographer.”

I was lucky enough to be chosen as an apprentice for a day to Pete Rowbottom (Landscape Photographer of the Year 2018/9) (by NPhoto magazine) and spent a fantastic 24 hours in the Lake District with the Editor, and Pete over two days in November 2019.

As you would expect at this time of year there was wind, rain, sun and snow. Pete was well prepared, and had locations ready for all those conditions. He had spare equipment, which was handy as my tripod was as stable as a falling down shed. He had spare NiSi filters which I was able to use and see how my pictures could be improved by them. He had oodles of useful hints and tips, whether we were shooting from a tripod or handheld, big views or targeted shots, static scenes or moving waterfalls. He had great communication skills, so it was easy to learn from him, and also retain the important points we discovered together that were stopping me from getting great photos.

If you need help with that little something missing from your photography, then Pete is your go to professional helper.

Saturday 19th September, I spent the morning taking photographs at Llandudno with Pete.

We got some great shots of the pier from the hilltop and down on the shoreline varying the shutter speeds to get different images.

Pete has loads of patience and knowledge and an expert eye for composition.

I learned a lot of useful tips on the workshop and would thoroughly recommend Pete to anyone thinking of increasing their photography skills.
